Finca Fuente de Hierro

The Iron Spring – Peace and quiet at an altitude of 750 metres

History and location

Overview

Fuente de Hierro, the ‘iron spring’ – that is the name the land on which the finca stands has borne for many centuries. Even the Moors used to stop here on their journey from the coast across the Sierra to Granada and fetch their water here. A well, which has been filled in since 1986, situated 200 metres east of the finca on a bend in the road, still bears witness to this today.

This beautiful, ancient name should not be lost, which is why we have named the new finca after it. We have now been connected to the mains electricity supply and the public water mains, which are used only as a backup. The finca is supplied by its own 80-metre-deep well – for it is only here that three water veins converge beneath our land as nowhere else: ‘fuente de hierro’. Fuente de Hierro is situated above Finca Marico, separated from it by a public road.

You will be the sole guests, with your own private pool.

Depending on the position of the sun, you can choose between an east-facing, south-facing, west-facing, barbecue, bistro or roof terrace. Go hiking in the Sierra de Tejeda Nature Park, just 200 metres away, which features the Maroma peak at an altitude of 2,065 metres.
